Common questions

Does it work offline? Bundled and saved numbers, embassy details, and phrases can be browsed without a connection. Maps, nearby search, fresh alerts, government feeds, and external websites require a connection. Language voices depend on what your device has available.

How do I update reference information? Choose Pull latest in Settings. When an update source is configured, this downloads a shared static package and saves valid reference data on your device. Your preferences and existing cache are not uploaded. The host receives ordinary network metadata, such as your IP address. Failed or unavailable downloads leave your saved data in place. A build without a configured update source says downloads are unavailable.

What do the dates mean? Content dates describe the reference dataset; source links identify its provenance. Package creation, device download, and latest update-attempt dates are shown separately. A recent download or automated check does not establish that every detail is current or independently verified.

Is location required? No. Choose a country manually. If you grant permission, the app requests location while you use it. Apple services process location requests for place lookup, maps, and weather; there is no background tracking.

Why are there no alerts? There may be no published alert, the source may be unavailable, or weather configuration/network access may be missing. An empty list does not establish that conditions are clear. Consult official sources.

Will tapping a number place a call? It opens the native system telephone prompt. A call is placed only after you confirm in the system interface. Do not place test calls to real emergency services.

Can I report incorrect information? Yes. Include the destination, service or phrase, and a link to the relevant official source. Automated source checks do not guarantee every displayed detail is correct or current.

JourneyMate provides information only. It is not an emergency service or a government agency. In an emergency, contact local authorities directly using an independently verified number. Support is not an emergency-response channel.
